Position Title: AI & Data Consultant
Ā Position Summary
Melese Duressa Institute is seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking AI & Data Consultant to support the organizationās digital transformation, data-driven decision-making, and AI integration initiatives.
The Consultant will design, implement, and optimize AI and data systems that enhance educational programs, business advisory services, digital platforms, and institutional operations. The role combines strategic advisory, technical execution, and capacity building.
Ā Key Responsibilities
AI Strategy & Institutional Integration
- Develop an AI integration roadmap aligned with MDIās strategic vision.
- Identify opportunities to apply AI across education, consulting, administration, and research.
- Advise leadership on responsible and ethical AI adoption.
Data Systems & Analytics
- Design and implement data collection, management, and reporting systems.
- Develop dashboards and performance tracking tools.
- Improve monitoring, evaluation, and impact measurement systems.
- Support predictive analytics for program planning and growth.
AI Tools & Automation
- Implement AI-powered tools (chatbots, automation systems, content tools, analytics tools).
- Optimize workflows using AI and automation platforms.
- Support integration with LMS, CRM, and digital platforms.
Capacity Building & Training
- Train staff and program teams on AI and data tools.
- Develop practical AI toolkits and internal guidelines.
- Support digital literacy and data-driven culture across departments.
Ā Governance, Ethics & Compliance
- Ensure data privacy, security, and responsible AI usage.
- Develop AI governance and data management policies.
- Align systems with local regulations and international best practices.
ā Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelorās or Masterās degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, Statistics, or related field.
- Proficiency in Afaan Oromo required, multilingual skills plus
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in AI, data analytics, or digital systems implementation.
- Experience designing dashboards, analytics systems, or automation solutions.
- Experience working with educational, nonprofit, or development organizations is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of AI/ML tools and applications
- Experience with Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics tools
- Familiarity with APIs, automation tools, and data platforms
- Experience with LMS or CRM systems is a plus
